Iran reserves the right to respond to Israel's attack on Tehran, which led to the death of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement.

This was announced by the permanent representative of Iran in the world organization, Amir Said Iravani, at the emergency session of the UN Security Council.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the inalienable right of self-defense under international law to resolutely respond to these terrorist and criminal acts when it deems it necessary and appropriate," he said.
