Iran is in favor of unblocking regional communications and transport routes, but this should happen under the sovereignty of Armenia. Iran's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, said this in a conversation with journalists, stressing that their position on lifting the blockade is very clear.

"If there is an unblocking, it is natural that the traffic increases and intensifies, but there must be a mutual agreement in this regard. If an agreement is reached, it means that we are getting closer to peace. This is for the benefit of the countries of the region. We support what is being done in the direction of establishing stable peace," said the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.
