North and South Korea are engaged in an arms race

Ahead of the next anniversary of the Korean War, North and South Korea are investing huge amounts of money in the development of drones. They are trying to support the hundreds of thousands of troops currently stationed near the Cold War's final frontier.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Korea has approved the plan to create a new unmanned aerial vehicle.

As "Bloomberg" notes, this measure, according to the South Korean government, should be a response to any provocation by North Korea with drones. According to "Bloomberg", drones, which have already proven their power during the Ukrainian conflict, can be an invaluable resource for North Korea and South Korea.

Despite Kim Jong-un's announced creation of a military force in 2021, there has been no official announcement of new drone development since 2012.

According to American military experts, the development of drones in both countries may contribute to the start of a new arms race on the Korean Peninsula.
