"Immediately stop negotiations". Artsakh National Assembly appeals to the RA delegation in Washington

The National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh adopted a statement calling on the Armenian delegation in Washington to immediately stop the negotiations.

The statement says: "The Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, once again grossly violating the cease-fire regime in Nagorno-Karabakh, adopted on November 9, 2020, opened fire from various types of weapons in the direction of the territory of the Republic of Artsakh from 1:30 on the night of June 27-28 of this year, as a result of which 4 of our compatriots were killed.

In the conditions of the complete blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan, this successive killing of the citizens of the Republic of Artsakh by artillery means and drones proves that the military-political leadership of that republic, ignoring the calls and decisions of international authoritative structures, is seeking genocidal military, military, and dialogue agendas. using political and economic instruments to achieve its main goal, the final depopulation of Artsakh.

It is noteworthy and significant that this new incident of regular violations of the ceasefire regime by Azerbaijan, similar to the previous cases, was also recorded at a time when the regular negotiations of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict are currently taking place in Washington with the mediation of the U.S. Secretary of State on settlement issues. This, of course, once again proves and confirms that these negotiations taking place on the "peace treaty" are also in reality nothing more than an imitation of the creation of an atmosphere for the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the region, supposedly in the context of international efforts.

Deeply worried about the existing dangerous reality, we appeal on behalf of the people of the Republic of Artsakh:

• To the UN Security Council, the leaders of the co-chair countries of the OSCE Minsk Group, apart from statements of sympathy, exhortations and advice, to take concrete practical steps, in particular to impose sanctions on Azerbaijan, restraining its aggressive ambitions. We are sure that the way of working with double standards further excites Azerbaijan, making it rampant and uncontrollable.
• The Russian Federation, within the framework of the peacekeeping mission, to stop the anti-human, genocidal actions of Azerbaijan by the harshest means,
• to the delegation of the Republic of Armenia in the Washington negotiations to immediately stop the started negotiations until the establishment of a full ceasefire on the line of contact with Artsakh and within the RA borders and the provision of documentary guarantees to maintain it, otherwise, the continuation of the negotiations will mean encouraging the aggressive behavior of the Azerbaijani side and privilege at the international level.

Bringing our bow to the memory of our four martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, we are ready to continue their holy work."
