The people of Artsakh are facing a threat to their physical existence. Minister of State

The people of Artsakh have been facing a threat to their physical existence since June 15, when Azerbaijan completely blocked the Lachin Corridor and deprived the people of Artsakh of limited humanitarian supplies. As "Armenpress" reports, this was said by Artsakh Republic's Minister of State Gurgen Nersisyan during the popular rally started in Stepanakert's Revival Square.

"Today, a citizen of Artsakh stood up to declare that it is enough. Azerbaijan and the world want to turn Artsakh into an altar on which the lives of our compatriots and our children are placed, and we cannot allow this.

If on December 12, 2022, the people of Artsakh had to be malnourished, if our elderly, children, and parents with health problems were forced to go through the most difficult life problems, then from June 15, 2023, our people were faced with a threat to their physical existence. Artsakh has been living on internal resources for almost a month. During that time, with the joint efforts of all of us, we have tried to keep the situation so that these severe consequences of the blockade of Artsakh have the least impact on the people of Artsakh, hoping that in the shortest possible time the international community, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Armenia will take decisive steps to stop the course of this deadly disaster. But it turned out that everyone is just watching all that as an observer," the state minister said, adding that today the situation is already dire, and every day tomorrow will be even harder and harder.

According to him, there are already many health problems, many communities are successively deprived of the opportunity to have drinking water. Residents of rural communities far from the capital have become captives, and for many, the only connection with regional centers and the capital is a phone call.

Residents of the villages of Shushi region have become hostages in all extreme forms. At the beginning, inter-community passenger transportation was reduced, and now it is stopped, children in kindergartens are hardly fed, patients in hospitals are given a small amount of food. In days, ambulances will not work, people will have a problem of unavailability of basic medicines.

"Now I want to ask a question to the international community, the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation: what do you need, what are you waiting for?" Do you want us to have dead bodies on this forum for you to respond to?

Do you want a repetition of the case of the death of children in our country to come to your senses? And I say on behalf of all of you, it is enough. For the third year already, the people of Artsakh have been patiently suffering all kinds of sufferings. Every day, our mothers and sisters, hiding their tears, look into the eyes of their children and, drowning under responsibility, make a choice and every time unconditionally choose the homeland, our Artsakh.

We closely follow the results of meetings organized in this or that part of the world. We follow how they take away this or that discussion platform from each other, fight for initiatives, conduct battles of mediation efforts. if there is pressure on someone, then the whole blow of the hammer falls on the head of the Artsakh citizen.

And again I want to shout on behalf of all of you: we have already reached the limit of patience and are no longer able to provide you with opportunities to do political trifles at the expense of deprivation. We are no longer able to suffer in self-forgetfulness. We can't because we don't have room to exhaust ourselves anymore. Because any concession is at the cost of the lives of our children, at the cost of the lives of 30,000 children of Artsakh. We will never make our children's lives an object of bargaining," State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan emphasized.
