The Azerbaijani side cut the fiber optic cable of the Internet, disrupting Artsakh's stable connection with the Internet. Beglaryan

Yesterday, August 17, at 17:55, near the illegal checkpoint located in the Berdzor (Lachin) corridor, the Azerbaijani side cut the fiber optic cable of the Internet, disrupting Artsakh's stable connection with the Internet. Artak Beglaryan, adviser to the Artsakh president, wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"Yesterday evening, specialists from Artsakh together with Russian peacekeepers tried to approach the given section and repair the cable, but the Azerbaijani side did not allow it. Negotiations between the peacekeepers and the Azerbaijani side have been ongoing since this morning so that our specialists can restore the damaged cable.

I do not consider it a coincidence that this new crime took place after the UN Security Council meeting and literally 5 minutes before the scheduled press conference on the subject of the Artsakh Genocide. As a result of this provocation, the speakers from Artsakh at the press conference, Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan and displaced citizen Alvina Nersesyan, were able to connect with the other two speakers, Foreign Minister Sergey Ghazaryan and First Prosecutor General of the ICC, Luis Moreno Ocampo, with a 45-minute delay. Despite Azerbaijan's efforts, the press conference was held, attended by around 130 people from 27 countries.

By the way, now in Artsakh, a very limited amount of Internet is available through unstable radio communication, which is also continuously under the pressure of Azerbaijani jamming systems," he wrote.
