According to the Turkish minister, the "opening works of the Zangezur Corridor" will start in the coming months
"In the coming months, the Turkish side will begin the works of opening the Zangezur Corridor," Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated in Istanbul today, "Azatutyun" reports.
"Regarding the Zangezur Corridor, we have come a certain way, and I believe that in a short period of time, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Armenia will implement this plan," the Turkish minister said, according to the APA agency.
A few days ago, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov announced that "Baku has a 'plan B' for the opening of the Zangezur Corridor without the participation of Armenia."
"At some point, it seems that we are close to the end of the work, but at the last moment, Armenia unexpectedly comes up with new approaches, and the process again appears at a dead end. It is unconstructive, besides, it contradicts the provisions of the tripartite declaration," Bayramov noted, continuing that Baku will continue the implementation of this project in any case, even without Armenia, "in that case that country will simply be excluded from the list of beneficiaries of the project."
Official Yerevan has repeatedly stated that Armenia is ready to unblock the transport and economic ties of the region, based on the principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction, reciprocity and equality of countries, and any corridor logic through the territory of Armenia is unacceptable.
Yerevan has also emphasized that there is no corridor logic in the context of unblocking transport infrastructures with the tripartite statement of November 9.
