If the Russian peacekeepers were informed in advance about military operations against Nagorno-Karabakh, what steps did they take? Khandanyan
Azerbaijan wants to complete the policy of ethnic cleansing with the military operation against Nagorno Karabakh. According to "Armenpress", Sargis Khandanyan, the chairman of the committee, said this at the extraordinary discussion organized in the NA Foreign Relations Committee.
"This action is also a provocation against the international community and our perception that the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh should be discussed between Baku and Stepanakert through an international mechanism. Azerbaijan also attacks this speech and this agenda and wants to complete its policy of ethnic cleansing. This is evidenced by the fact that from the official sources of Azerbaijan, there are thoughts that a humanitarian corridor can be opened for the population, which is obvious to all of us, that it contains elements of a genocidal act or is such," said Khandanyan.
The chairman of the NA foreign relations committee is extremely surprised and considers it unacceptable that Azerbaijan mentions the participation of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia in its official messages.
"I think this aims to point the arrows at Armenia and prepare aggression towards the sovereign territory of Armenia as well. And in this regard, I would call on our public to keep calm and not give in to provocations, because there are many provocations inside the country that serve this speech," Khandanyan emphasized.
Khandanyan also considers the claim of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan that the Russian peacekeeping force was informed about this attack to be puzzling.
"This raises many questions, including the questions we had about our Russian partners and the Russian peacekeeping force. Considering that Nagorno-Karabakh is under the responsibility of Russian peacekeepers and they are the guarantor of security, and if they were informed in advance, what actions were taken? I hope that the Russian partners will give an answer to this question," Khandanyan said.
According to the Chairman of the NA Foreign Relations Committee, the fact that the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to stop the tension in his statement also causes confusion.
"What is Armenia's participation here?" Everyone knows that Armenia has no military presence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan attacked the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh," Khandanyan emphasized.
The chairman of the NA Foreign Relations Committee considers it necessary to actively work at the parliamentary level with international partners, with MPs of various parliamentary platforms, so that awareness increases, pressure on Azerbaijan increases, and aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh is stopped.
