Azerbaijan formally agreed to the principles of peace, but does not take practical steps. Khachatryan
It has been said many times that there is an agreement regarding the principles of peace, there is at least a formal agreement between the international community and Azerbaijan, and we want to make sure that it is meaningful and real.
According to "Haykakan Zhamanak", MP Armen Khachatryan of the "Civil Agreement" faction told reporters about this today in the National Assembly, noting that it is a "formal agreement" because no other meetings have been held to discuss these issues a second time.
"Formal means that the international community was told once that we agree, because they cannot say anything else, but they do not take steps to implement them. The issue is in the acceptance of the three principles of the agreement, the issue of enclaves is not discussed here," he said.
According to Khachatryan, the issue of border adjustment will be done with the maps of 1975.
To the question: if Azerbaijan is taking a formal approach, how are the negotiations going so far, the deputy emphasized: "The worst thing is that negotiations are not taking place, today there is quite a lot of progress, Azerbaijan did not agree before, now it gives agreements. The international community is applying pressure, and these pressures are coming. In my opinion, that snowball will get bigger, and a contract will be signed."
According to him, the peace agreement is sometimes distorted, there is an idea that it is about brotherhood, but this means that guarantees are given, for example, Armenia will not attack Azerbaijan, there is no problem that could lead to the use of force.
