The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, visited the headquarters of the US European Command located in Stuttgart on November 1-3, at the invitation of the US European Command, the Ministry of Defense informs.

The First Deputy Minister of Defense met with the Deputy Commander of the US European Command, Lieutenant General Steven Basham, to discuss issues related to the development of Armenian-American military cooperation.

Edward Asryan presented details about the reforms taking place in the Armenian Armed Forces and the support expected from the US during them. Stephen Basham expressed the readiness of the US to continue supporting current cooperation programs, as well as to initiate new directions of cooperation in the following areas:
professionalization of the armed forces, strengthening of the professional sergeant corps, modernization of the management system, peacekeeping, military medicine, military education and combat training, exercises, etc.

Issues related to regional security were also discussed.

Within the scope of the visit, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan also visited the Joint Multinational Training Center and Sergeant Academy of the US Ground Forces in Europe located in Hohenfels.
