The "heavy slap" of the MFA of Georgia to Baku. Darchiashvili about weapons sent to RA
Georgian Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili commented on the delivery of French armored vehicles to Armenia through the territory of Georgia during the "Free Vision" program of the first channel of Georgia, "Hraparak" reports.
To the presenter's question that the supply of armored vehicles from France to Armenia through the territory of Georgia will hinder Tbilisi's role as a mediator between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Darchiashvili answered that "Georgia gives both countries the opportunity to use the transit function on equal terms."
"Any country has the right to have defense forces, and when it comes to conventional equipment or weapons authorized by international treaties, any country has the right to acquire them.
Georgia's position is that both countries should be given the opportunity to use the transit function of our country under equal conditions. This is our answer, comments on this issue will not be appropriate," said Darchiashvili, responding to the hysteria raised in Azerbaijan on the topic.
According to him, Georgia's "main goal is to ensure peace and stability in the region together with two friendly and brotherly peoples".
Darchiashvili noted that Tbilisi successfully plays the role of an impartial player in that process.
