It is expected that one Akash anti-aircraft missile system, which Armenia can acquire, will cost less than 500 thousand dollars. This is reported by ETV Bharat, News.am reports.

Earlier, the Indian media wrote that Armenia can acquire short-range Akash anti-aircraft missile systems from India.

The complex can simultaneously hit several targets in a group or autonomous mode. It has built-in electronic countermeasures (ECCM) capabilities. The entire weapon system is located on mobile platforms.

It can effectively shoot down helicopters, fighter jets and drones flying within a radius of 4-25 kilometers. The complex is fully automatic and quickly detects targets and destroys them.

It is highly resistant to active and passive interference. It can be quickly transported and also quickly deployed.

With the ability to engage multiple targets and destroy maneuverable targets such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), cruise missiles and helicopter-launched missiles, the Akash is ideally suited to Yerevan's air defense needs.

It is expected that the deliveries of the Indian Akash anti-aircraft missile system to Armenia will begin in a few months.
