Peace has never been so close. President of the National Assembly

During this year, we had achievements and losses. Today, on December 26, NA Speaker Alen Simonyan mentioned this in a conversation with journalists in the NA park, News.am reports.

"I think we are closing the year in a hopeful way. I consider the peace process hopeful, and I attach great importance to the return of prisoners this year. It is clear that we also had difficult moments, the depopulation of Artsakh in September. In a word, it was another year that we did everything," he said.

Alen Simonyan believes that the peace plan will be implemented. "You remember how they said right after the war that we wouldn't be able to negotiate, that there would be no peace, but it's clear now that peace has never been so close." "I'm optimistic."

Alen Simonyan responded to the observation that Azerbaijan has lost its last few matches, saying, "It is based on the contract discussion." You are aware that we are exchanging ideas and having a constructive discussion. It is also conditioned by Azerbaijan's leadership's comments that they recognise Armenia's territorial integrity. Yes, missing meetings are a problem, but meetings and talks continue and will continue. We are really close to a peace accord and true peace."
