
We are waiting for Azerbaijan's answer. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia
They were political statements, which had no political reference. Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan mentioned this in a conversation with journalists today, January 29, referring to the fact that RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the proposals made to Azerbaijan regarding control of each other's weapons and non-aggression, "News.am" reports.
"If there are appropriate positive responses, naturally, the discussions will move to another stage," he said.
Regarding the prospects of signing a peace agreement, the deputy minister said. "We remain sincerely interested in the full settlement of relations with our neighbors and the conclusion of a peace treaty. You know that on January 4, we sent the updated version of the relevant agreement text to the Armenian side. Basically, we are waiting for Azerbaijan's response. Yesterday there were announcements that the answer will be in a few weeks."
Referring to the question about Moscow's intentions to change the Russian ambassador to Armenia, Kostanyan said that he does not have such information. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not officially received any letter."
As for the appointment of the RA ambassador to Russia, since the agreement has already been sent, he said, "When there is news, it will be properly informed."
Vahan Kostanyan responded to the question: Did Armenia join the documents of the CSTO Summit in Minsk, which the CSTO Secretary General brought with him to Yerevan? "They are under discussion."
