He noted that in recent years, Azerbaijan has intensified measures against important sectors, particularly the mining sector, News.am reports.

According to him, they targeted the field of mining, energy and other important directions, which have important, long-term significance from the point of view of development.

Janyan reminded that the blockade of Lachin Corridor started at the request of the Kasheni mine of Nagorno-Karabakh. "After solving that issue, they moved to the companies that are located in Armenia, first of all, the mining companies, the Armenian NPP, etc. Azerbaijan's activity, which began in recent years, is associated with the higher growth rates of Armenia's economy compared to Azerbaijan's indicators. Even in terms of GDP per capita, Armenia already surpasses Azerbaijan. And these fears of theirs are also related to the fact that the observed processes may result in a violation of the balance of the military sphere," the expert emphasized.

He noted that the Armenian authorities, society, and business should strive to reduce these risks.

"It is strange that neither Armenian nor Azerbaijani NGOs raise the issue of the damage caused by Azerbaijan's oil extraction to environmental protection," he summarized.
