Speakers of National Assembly of Armenia and Azerbaijan may meet in Switzerland

The Armenian side considers the meeting of the NA speakers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Switzerland possible in March. This was announced by the office of the Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan in response to Sputnik Armenia's inquiry.

At the beginning of February, the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Martin Chungong announced that a meeting of the presidents of the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan is planned to be held within the framework of the next assembly of the union to be held in March.

The office of the Speaker of the National Assembly reported that they have not yet received a clear proposal about the planned meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan on March 23-27, but they do not rule out such a possibility.

"Having a meeting of such a format is debatable for us," the press service said.

They noted there that they will be able to give a clear decision and answer in case of additional information.
