Armenian history is the history of non-existence of statehood, Pashinyan stated

Armenian history is the history of non-existence of statehood with episodes of having statehood, and the history of Armenia is the history of statehood with episodes of not having statehood. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this in the National Assembly, referring to the issue of turning the subject "History of Armenians" into "History of Armenia".

To the observation of CP member of parliament Hasmik Hakobyan, whether the Motherland is a state, or whether we oppose the homeland to the state, Pashinyan replied: "Absolutely not like that. The government notes the need to understand, research, and understand the relations of these concepts, because they have relations with each other, they are not clear. let's understand this question better, and the answer is no, we don't need to understand this question, because everything is not clear, nothing is clear," Pashinyan emphasized.

According to him, concepts have meanings under them. "I'm not the author of the proposal, I wouldn't feel bad if I were, I'm surprised why we didn't notice it, because Armenian history is the history of non-existence of statehood with episodes of having statehood, and the history of Armenia is the history of statehood with episodes of not having statehood. We want the logic of our history to replace the dominance of episodes of not having statehood with the dominance of episodes of having statehood."

Pashinyan emphasized that statehood and Armenia are episodes in Armenian history. "Armenia is a key in the history of Armenia. It is the same story. Even if that story refers to the Armenian community of Ukraine, you have to put Armenia at the core, you have to look at it from Armenia's point of view, because an event that happened with Armenia formed that community."
