
The meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council has started: the ongoing developments around Armenia and Artsakh will be discussed
On February 20, Mother See in Holy Etchmiadzin, H.E. Under the chairmanship of Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council began with an expanded composition. The Mother See informs that the Assembly opened with the Lord's Prayer, after which His Holiness greeted the Most Reverend Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople Sahak Archbishop Mashalyan's participation in the meeting.
Then, bringing his appreciation and blessing to the clergy and lay members of the Supreme Spiritual Council, the Catholicos of All Armenians asked for the graces and guidance of the Holy Spirit for the congregants to effectively hold the regular meeting of the Supreme Council.
During the meeting, issues related to the ongoing developments around Armenia and Artsakh, overcoming the challenges faced by forcibly displaced Armenians from Artsakh, and preservation of Artsakh's spiritual and cultural heritage will be discussed. A special reference will be made to the organization of the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral and the blessing of the Myron during the year.
Various ecclesiastical, diocesan, educational issues are also included in the agenda.
