"Our mission can visit the entire territory of Armenia, with the exception of the Inner Hand region, which is in the area of responsibility of the FSS," said the head of the EU mission, Marcus Ritter, in response to "Azatutyun" question.
"Azatutyun" specifically asked: the residents of Hand informed that the observers do not have access to their territory, why is it due to the Russian presence?
"Especially in the Inner Hand, in all other places where we communicate, pass by or meet with Russian forces, there are no similar problems," said the head of the EU mission.
To the question, "did they know in advance or did they go and not allow it on the spot?", the head of the EU mission answered. "From the beginning, we knew that the problems of entering the Inner Hand are not excluded, and the justification... you should ask the Russians that question. We are here as guests of Armenia, so Armenia should deal with this issue, because we do not have direct contacts with the Russian side."
On February 13, the situation became tense in the area of the positions of Nerkin Hand, Syunik marz. the Armenian side reported that 4 people were killed and 1 was injured as a result of Azerbaijani fire. Baku announced that it carried out a "Retaliation" operation, accusing the Armenian side of violating the ceasefire in the direction of Inner Hand and injuring their border guard.
The Prime Minister of Armenia announced that Azerbaijan continues to pursue a policy of military coercion against Armenia, not excluding that Baku may also start a war against Armenia.
Nikol Pashinyan's statements were described by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan as "unfounded accusations, which aim to intentionally inflame tension in the region".
