The course of military-technical cooperation was also discussed at the meeting between the RA Minister of Defense and the French Minister of Armed Forces

On February 23, within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Armenia, the RA Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan and French Minister of Armed Forces Sebastien Lecorne had a private conversation in the administrative complex of the RA Ministry of Defense, which was followed by a meeting with an expanded delegation. This is reported by the RA Ministry of Defense.

During the meeting, the parties summarized the work done in defense cooperation and expressed their satisfaction with the progress and results of the cooperation.

At the same time, a number of new directions of cooperation were outlined.

The ministers emphasized the importance of the Armenian-French military-technical cooperation within the framework of the reforms of the RA armed forces and the efforts to put it on a long-term institutional basis.

The issues of military education, combat training, various exercises, consulting and expert support received special attention.

The course of military-technical cooperation and the upcoming actions to ensure its continuity were also discussed.

During the meeting, Suren Papikyan and Sebastian Lecornu exchanged thoughts on regional security issues.

The ministers emphasized that the Armenian-French defense cooperation and joint efforts are exclusively aimed at the establishment of long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus region, as well as the development of the defense capabilities of the RA armed forces in strengthening the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia.

It should be noted that RA Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan and French Minister of Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu signed a number of agreements in the administrative complex of the RA Ministry of Defense.
