Azerbaijan is destroying the cultural heritage of occupied Artsakh at the state level
Azerbaijan destroys the cultural heritage of occupied Artsakh at the state level. We record dozens of facts of Azerbaijani vandalism at daily intervals.
Another video published on the Internet clearly shows how Azerbaijani vandals destroy the cemetery of the Old Shen settlement of the Shushi region of the Artsakh Republic using construction equipment.
2020 from the large-scale war unleashed by the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist tandem on September 27 and 2023. After the complete depopulation of Artsakh, the historical cemeteries of Shushi, many cemeteries of the settlements of Hadrut and Martuni regions, the cemetery of Sghnak village of Askeran region, the fraternal cemetery of Haterk village of Martakert region became the targets of the cultural genocide policy implemented at the state level of Azerbaijan.
All this once again shows that the cultural heritage of Artsakh is under the threat of destruction and usurpation.
According to Article 4 of the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in Armed Conflict, any act of vandalism, theft, robbery, misappropriation, hostility or reprisal against cultural heritage is prohibited. The first Hague Protocol of 1954 prohibits the destruction of cultural or spiritual values in the occupied territories.
