Eduard Martirosyan, General Director of "Armenian Nuclear Power Plant" CJSC, told reporters during the AtomExpo in Sochi that the safety system of the Metsamor nuclear power plant is of a very high level, writes News.am.

"I don't think that Turkey can raise this issue, we as an operating organization and I as the head of that organization cannot operate a dangerous plant. I can definitely tell you that in the direction of any measure that may have an impact on security, steps are taken in full measure and even more.

The security system of our station is at a very high level, and the funds allocated by the RA government were completely sufficient, even exceeding the standards to modernize the existing security systems.

We are already pursuing new technologies to ensure the safety of our station, safety is one of the most important circumstances for us. No state can think more than us for the security of our country," the Director of the Nuclear Power Plant emphasized.

Martirosyan mentioned that even the head of AEMG spoke about the safety of the Metsamor nuclear power plant.

"I think it should have been enough for the experts of some countries who express different opinions regarding the operation of the Armenian nuclear power plant, as if there were no such problems," said Eduard Martirosyan.
