There is a devastating danger behind the call of the Great Seven. Calls for the return of refugees must be answered objectively

Political scientist Garik Keryan writes on his Facebook page. "The G7 called on the authorities of Azerbaijan to take appropriate steps to ensure the safe, dignified and stable return of refugees to Nagorno-Karabakh." 44 days of bloody war, the voice of the Great Seven was not heard, nine months of blockade and humanitarian disaster, no voice again, then last year it was classic ethnic cleansing, no action, no sanctions. Before that, Western leaders at the highest level declared that ethnic cleansing was a red line for them. One circumstance saved them, the Russians are to blame for everything, they are standing there, let them answer.

Well, let's leave this past for now, it is clear to all of us that politics has nothing to do with morality. Now about this last appeal. It's just awful. Without status and permanent security guarantees, no Armenian will return under Azerbaijani rule. They know it well, that's why during three decades of suffering and struggle, the "humanists" did not recognize the right of NKR self-determination, even though they love human rights very much.

But anyway, what is behind this call of the Great Seven? I see a danger, destructive and harmful. It is very likely that this provision for the return of Artsakh residents will be turned around, and the end will be served in the form of a "humanistic" agreement for the return of all refugees. Well, it is clear, those freed from the Russian yoke should also accept this strictly humanitarian step. Of course, no Armenian refugees will return, but the large masses of Azerbaijanis who left at the beginning of the conflict will surely return. And this will be the end. It is no coincidence that the West Azerbaijan narrative has been the main slogan of Baku for a long time. Calls for the return of refugees must be answered objectively."
