It was reported to Washington that the Armenians are resisting. Why had Blinken called?

Political scientist Garik Keryan writes. "The RA Prime Minister had a telephone conversation with the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The topic is most probably the anti-government processes unfolding in Armenia. And why did this reality bother the head of the foreign policy department of the superpower state? The West, especially the USA and France, have been working very intensively for a long time to reduce and neutralize the Russian spheres of influence step by step. We all know what fantastic resources have been deployed in Georgia and Ukraine. Success seems to be expected in Armenia as well. The Karabakh issue was "solved", which in the West was considered one of the mainstays of Russian political games in the South Caucasus, and also a tool to pit Armenia and Azerbaijan against each other and use it as leverage/subjugation. For this, Western platforms convinced Yerevan to recognize NKR as a part of Azerbaijan and to voice the long-forgotten Alma Ati declaration. And in 2023 the ethnic cleansing of September and the departure of the Russians gave rise to euphoric moods. If there are no interfering Russians, then everything is ok and you can move on to border demarcation, until the long hand of Moscow mixes the cards again.

But now undesirable realities have arisen. It has been reported to Washington that the Armenians are resisting, resisting a process sponsored by Von der Leyen, Blinken and Borrell, who recently promised our prime minister several hundred million. It is unlikely that Blinken is concerned about the problems of Kirants and Voskepar, in the current conditions of the third world war, it is simply ridiculous. What worries Washington is that the protestant movement is proceeding with pronounced anti-Western tones, it is very clear and visible. There are no grounds to blame Moscow in this process.

It is not by chance that the most radical pro-Western wing of political analysts calls the Protestant movement a "5th column", but this is no longer effective. Blinken is rightly worried, because defining the borders in this way will create animosity towards Washington and Brussels. Spent resources and time can be wasted, a highly undesirable reality for Western strategists. In Georgia, a new draft law was adopted to control pro-Western non-governmental organizations, and the pressure of Russian troops is increasing on the Ukrainian front. In these big global problems, Kirants and Voskepar, you are a bad joke. Who would have thought?"
