The West is forcing Yerevan and Baku to mediate for conflict resolution. Belousov
NATO and the European Union, with their adopted course of confrontation with Russia, are causing an increase in tension in Georgia and in Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. According to the "News" report, this was announced by Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov at the meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO in Almaty.
"Individual countries of the North Atlantic Alliance are striving to strengthen their positions in the Caucasus, thereby gaining access to the resources of the Caspian Sea and having a direct exit to Central Asia. The situation is being destabilized and protest actions are being financed in Georgia, where active anti-Russian actions are being carried out," said Belousov.
According to him, Western mediation is imposed on Armenia and Baku (ed.) for the settlement of conflicts.
"It is proposed to conclude a peace agreement exclusively on Western platforms and at their behest. The plans of Washington and Brussels to involve our Armenian partners in the domain of their interests under the pretext of strengthening security and defense are of particular concern," the Russian Defense Minister expressed his opinion.
