A resolution condemning the ethnic cleansing of the people of Artsakh by Baku was presented to the US Congress

US House of Representatives members Anna Eshu and Chris Smith introduced a bipartisan resolution condemning Baku for carrying out ethnic cleansing against the population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"Last year, Baku's (ed.) attack on Nagorno Karabakh led to the destruction of the Armenian community, which for centuries considered that region its home. The actions of Baku (ed.) meet all definitions of ethnic cleansing and must be condemned as such. Our resolution defines a clear list of atrocities committed against the Armenian people and outlines the important steps that the United States must take to ensure justice and hold them accountable for these crimes," Eshu said.

Smith, in turn, stated that the ethnic cleansing carried out by Baku against the population of Nagorno-Karabakh does not neutralize their right to live peacefully and freely in their homeland.

"Our bipartisan bill calls on the Biden administration to resolutely support the rights of Armenians against the ongoing crimes of the Baku Republic (ed) government under its ruthless dictator Ilham Aliyev," Smith said.
