Samantha Power will arrive in Yerevan to "confirm the deepening partnership of the USA with Armenia"

USAID head Samantha Power is visiting Armenia, reports the Armenian mission of the US Agency for International Development.

According to the release, Samantha Power will be in Armenia from July 8 to July 11 to confirm the United States' deepening partnership with Armenia, emphasize USAID's support for the Armenian government's reform agenda, and advance efforts to increase Armenia's resilience.

During the visit, the head of USAID will meet with high-ranking officials of the Armenian government, business leaders, youth and media representatives.

Samantha Power is also scheduled to meet with displaced persons to strengthen US support to the Government of Armenia in providing humanitarian, including psycho-social and longer-term assistance to the displaced to rebuild their lives.

USAID's Yerevan office reported in April that the US Agency for International Development provides $33 million in support to the people of Armenia, noting that Washington is increasing the support provided to Armenia.
