The Ambassador of Iran to Armenia commented on the purchase of Indian weapons by Armenia

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani announced that Iran supports the strengthening of Armenia. According to "Detq", the Iranian "Tasnim" news agency informs that Sobhani said this during a meeting with journalists and experts.

It is reported that Sobhani referred to the issue of Iran's transit role in the transportation of Indian weapons to Armenia. He said that the balance of power will contribute to the peace and security of the region.

"We are ready to provide assistance to Armenia, which will contribute to peace and stability in the region," he emphasized.

Answering the question whether Iran wants to have a military presence in Armenia in return for that transit role, he said that he prefers not to respond to those rumours.
