We will continue cooperation in the field of defense, announced French President Emmanuel Macron before the start of bilateral negotiations with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, "Azatutyut" reports.

"France has given its consent to the delivery of defensive military equipment," Macron announced.

The French president assured that Armenia can count on France's support for its independence, territorial integrity, democratic process and aspirations for peace.

"It is necessary for Azerbaijan to dispel ambiguity, to carry out conscientious work on border demarcation and delimitation, which will serve as a basis for the withdrawal of forces from both sides of the border," Emmanuel Macron said.

The French president also demanded from Baku to ensure the right of the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh to return to their homes "quickly, unhindered and safely".
