The former foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, also blamed the United States for the destruction of the helicopter of the country's president, Ebrahim Raisi. According to "Detq", the information was reported by the Iranian state news agency IRNA.

According to Zarif, the American sanctions imposed on aviation parts became the reason for the destruction of the Iranian presidential helicopter. He drew attention to the fact that sanctions hinder Iran's access to modern aviation parts.

With this statement, Iran's former foreign minister implicated the United States in Sunday's plane crash in northwest Iran that killed Ebrahim Raisi and his companions, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

"One of the culprits of yesterday's (he means May 19 - ed.) tragedy is the United States, because due to its sanctions, Iran is prohibited from acquiring the main aviation parts," he stated.

It should be noted that Iran's presidential helicopter "Bell 212" is a civilian adaptation of the "UH-1N Twin Huey" of the Vietnam War period, which crashed in thick fog on May 19.
