The former president of the Russian Federation, currently the vice-chairman of the country's security council, Dmitri Medvedev, is sure that nobody is waiting for Armenia in the EU. According to "Detq", he mentioned this in his article published in "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

Medvedev stressed that the West is not going to invite Armenia to join the European Union, and Ukraine will not achieve this in the near future either.

"The age-old friendship of the Russian and Armenian peoples, strengthened by alliance relations within the framework of the CSTO and EAEU, has long been a thorn in the side of Washington and its allies. Considerable forces have been deployed to pull the Transcaucasian republic into the Euro-Atlantic camp," he believes.

According to Medvedev, "mountains of gold", including membership in the European Union, are offered to Yerevan in exchange for full loyalty.

"But do not deceive yourself. such promises are just bait in the neo-colonial mousetrap. No one intends to open the doors of the "elite club" to the Armenian people. Ask the neo-Benders if they managed to join the EU. No, and they won't see it anytime soon. And will they see at all?" he said.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation cited Georgia with the law on foreign agents as an example, which the USA and the European Union did not like.

"And what: As a result, sanctions. The resolution on the strengthening of relations between the EU and Armenia adopted by the European Parliament in March 2024 is actually an ordinary piece of paper without obligations," he added.
