Baku responded to the statement issued by the RA Foreign Ministry

"We categorically reject the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia on June 19, 2024, which justifies the efforts of that country to arm itself", according to the Azerbaijani APA news agency, Baku MFA press secretary Aykhan Hajizade said this while commenting on the RA MFA earlier today. the statement issued.

An Azerbaijani official stated that "Armenia, which has grossly violated the norms and principles of international law for about 30 years, has carried out aggression against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Baku (ed.), violating the Alma-Ata Declaration, which it now repeatedly refers to and continues to has territorial ambitions towards its neighbors, stopped aggressive actions only after the actions of Baku and resorts to political manipulations, trying to create an image of a peaceful country.

Hajizade said: "It is absurd that after 30 years, Armenia, which does not recognize any border, presents the positions of Azerbaijani soldiers as the territories of their villages without demarcation, and accuses the Republic of Baku (ed.) of occupation. It is clear that countries such as France, which allegedly keep the peace and compete to supply Armenia with lethal offensive weapons, despite its declarations of increasing its defense capabilities, serve to turn Armenia into a new source of tension and threats. Considering that this policy contributes to the next possible Armenian aggression, it is important to refrain from these steps before it is too late. The main condition for signing a real and lasting peace agreement between the Republic of Baku (ed.) and Armenia is the amendment of the Constitution of Armenia.

The Azerbaijani official added that instead of such provocations and political manipulations against Baku, the Armenian side should fulfill its international obligations and contribute to the peace process, not by words, but by deeds.
