Baku is Italy's biggest trade partner in the South Caucasus. Shahbazov

During the event dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Italy, Minister of Energy of Baku Parviz Shahbazov said that the largest trade partner of Italy in the South Caucasus is the Republic of Baku (ed.).

The Azerbaijani minister said that the strategic partnership between the two countries has reached the highest level in all fields. In this regard, he emphasized the role of mutual visits and noted that interstate relations have entered a new phase.

"Italy is one of the main trade partners of the Republic of Baku (ed.), last year the turnover between the two countries was 15.6 billion dollars. Among the European countries, Italy is the country that imports the most gas and oil from Baku: 11 million tons of oil and 9.4 billion cubic meters of gas. "The presidency of the two countries in the G7 and COP29 opens up new opportunities for cooperation," Shahbazov emphasized.
