"News.am". During the joint exercises with the USA, an Indian-made thermal monocular was seen on the helmet of the Armenian military, writes the Indian newspaper The Print.

These targets are among several types of defense equipment that Armenia acquired from India to strengthen its armed forces after the defeat in the war with Azerbaijan, the newspaper notes.

"Incidentally, the Indian Army has acquired this target, among other equipment, from Tonbo Imaging as part of the 2021 extraordinary procurement.

The company's products are used by several special purpose units, including in Israel and France, as well as in India," emphasizes The Print.

According to the periodicals, Armenia has become a major customer of Indian defense companies, both state-owned and private, from the purchase of artillery systems and Pinaka multiple-barreled rocket launchers to small arms, ammunition and explosives.

"The Indian defense establishment is tight-lipped when it comes to arms exports to Armenia, but sources claim that it facilitates any requests from foreign countries given New Delhi's major strategic role. By the way, in the fiscal year 2023-2024, the export of defense products from India has reached a record level, with supplies reaching more than 85 countries near and far," notes The Print.

As first reported by The Print in 2022, Armenia has asked India to strengthen its modernizing defense forces.
