Abkhazia has strengthened border control with Georgia and Russia

The authorities of Abkhazia have strengthened the control of the borders with Georgia and the Russian Federation and instructed to take the most important infrastructures under protection in connection with the situation in the Russian Federation.

According to "Detq", the press service of the presidency of Abkhazia informs about this, summarizing the results of the meeting of Vice President Badra Gunba with the leaders of the power structures.

The State Security Service of Abkhazia is tasked with strengthening the control of the border crossings of the Ingur and Psou Rivers and guarding all critical infrastructure facilities.

The Ministry of Defense of Abkhazia and the State Security Service are ordered to be in constant contact with the representatives of the 7th military base of the Russian Armed Forces and the representatives of the Border Guard Department of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia.

 

At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia is tasked to operationally strengthen the complex measures to maintain public security, including during planned mass events.
