Kazakhstan plans to purchase Turkish armored vehicles
The government of Kazakhstan intends to buy 834 units of ARMA AFV from the Turkish company "Otokar". "Orda.kz" informs about this, according to "Detq".
According to the news agency, the government is already preparing the decree. The total cost of the military equipment will be about 2 trillion tenge ($4.4 billion).
It should be noted that until now 17 cars of the Turkish "Otokar" company are being serviced in Kazakhstan. They were bought 3-4 years ago. In addition, the TULPAR and ARMA armored fighting vehicles developed by "Otokar" have been tested for about a year.
It is expected that these vehicles will enter service in the Kazakh army in the near future. The country's Deputy Minister of Defense Sultan Kamaletdinov stated in December 2022 that they are considering acquiring Turkish armored vehicles and drones intended for the newly established "Special Forces" command in the country.
The deputy minister emphasized that if the sale is carried out in the announced volumes, it will be the largest export of the Turkish defense industry to date.
