The Iranian lecturer claims that Azerbaijan is deliberately attempting to distort history

Dr. Vali Dinparast, professor of the history department of Tabriz University, stated that there is no state called Azerbaijan in historical sources. According to "Detq", Dinparast said this in an interview with the Iranian "Iscannews" news agency.

Referring to the anti-Iranian statements of Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, the Iranian lecturer noted that either they have not studied history, or they are deliberately attempting to distort history.

Earlier, the Iranian media wrote that in recent years, Azerbaijan's official media, in line with Azerbaijan's hostile policy against Iran, have been publishing untrue materials and trying to justify their actions by distorting history. The article noted that the deepening of relations with Israel had a significant impact on the approaches of Azerbaijan, and the statesmen of this country even follow the distortion of history.

The media reminded that Tehran has always shown strategic patience towards Baku's actions, wanting to reduce tensions in the region, and perhaps this approach caused Baku to make wrong calculations. "Regardless of the political aspect of the issue, historical documents can correctly identify the unrealistic nature of some media materials on the history of the region," the article states.

The deepening of relations between Azerbaijan and Israel worries Iran, because the latter is well aware that Israel and its allies intend to use the territory of Azerbaijan as a springboard in case of a possible conflict. It is due to this circumstance that Western countries very often turn a blind eye to the crimes committed by Azerbaijan, because the territory of this country is of strategic importance for them.
