Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran has stated that Iran supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all the countries of the Caucasus region. According to "Detq", the Iranian state news agency IRNA informs that Raisi said this during a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

Raisi reaffirmed that Iran does not accept any geopolitical changes and changes in the borders of the countries of the Caucasus region. According to his conviction, foreign intervention only complicates the solution of regional problems, therefore the problems should be solved by the countries of the region themselves.

"By supporting the peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Iran hopes that these negotiations will create and strengthen peace, security and tranquility in the region as much as possible," he said.

The President of Iran stated that his country does not see any obstacles for the development of relations with Armenia.

Ararat Mirzoyan, in turn, noted that Armenia will never become a platform for anti-Iranian actions. He said that the Armenian side attaches importance to the expansion of regional security and peace.
