Artsakh MFA commented on the news about the possible start of Baku-Stepanakert dialogue

The Artsakh MFA, acknowledging the importance of public interest in both Artsakh and Armenia regarding the possible start of the Stepanakert-Baku dialogue, at the same time does not consider it appropriate to comment on individual meetings that did not take place due to no reason. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh in response to "Armenpress"'s question about the news circulating in the Armenian information field about a possible meeting between the representatives of the Republic of Artsakh and Azerbaijan.

"We would like to emphasize that the authorities of the Republic of Artsakh are always ready to discuss reasonable proposals regarding the organization of meetings between the representatives of Artsakh and Azerbaijan. Moreover, the Artsakh side, in turn, regularly comes up with initiatives and proposals for the organization of meetings between the representatives of Artsakh and Azerbaijan with the participation of mediators," the comment states.

At the same time, the department expressed their belief that the success of the dialogue depends on the real interest and conscientious approach of both sides in settling their differences. "Such interest from our side exists. If the Azerbaijani side also shows such willingness, it will pave the way for the start of dialogue."

"In this context, we emphasize once again that the dialogue between Artsakh and Azerbaijan should take place in an internationally agreed format with an appropriate mandate," the Foreign Ministry noted, adding that such an approach would allow the international community to be more actively involved in the negotiation process and strengthen its legitimacy and stability, as well as provide reliable guarantees for the implementation of possible agreements between the parties.
