Aliyev accused Europe of not supporting the fight against separatism
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview to "Euronews" that Europe and the West have united to help Ukraine in the fight against separatism, but in the case of Azerbaijan, the fight against separatism is treated differently.
"Now we see how Europe and the West have united to help Ukraine in the fight against separatism. Why do they treat the fight against separatism differently in our case? Why is Georgia's approach to separatist regions fully understood by western circles and politicians, while our legitimate desire to end separatism is questioned? Why does Spain not allow Catalonia to hold a referendum, even though their number is 5-6 million, don't they have their own state, and the same Armenians who have a state next to us? Why should we tolerate separatism? We will not do that," Aliyev said.
