Moscow supports the inception of Baku-Stepanakert negotiations. Zakharova

Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, stated that the Russian side supports the inception of the dialogue between Stepanakert and Baku. According to "Detq", the Russian “TASS” news agency informs that Zakharova said this during her briefing yesterday.

Zakharova drew attention to the fact that the Russian peacekeepers also contributed to the organization of delegation meetings in the past.

"We support the inception of negotiations between Baku and Stepanakert. This topic is on the agenda of our communications with stakeholders. "Russian peacekeepers have previously helped to organize meetings between the two delegations and are ready to continue providing the necessary assistance," he said.

The latter also noted that Russia does not impose any preconditions, and is also working diligently to bring the approaches of the parties closer, which are currently seriously different in the background of the escalation of tensions in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Recently, the topic of organizing negotiations between Artsakh and Azerbaijan has been circulating quite actively, and in this matter, there is competition between different actors. Zakharova's statement that Russia does not set any preconditions is related to the information that Washington is forcing Artsakh to conduct negotiations with Azerbaijan in a third country under the so-called integration agenda, and in case of refusal, threatens that Azerbaijan will "carry out an anti-terrorist operation" against Artsakh.
