Azerbaijan called on Armenia to compensate the "damages" at the UN session
At the UN session, Azerbaijan called on Armenia to compensate the damage caused and to participate conscientiously in the peace negotiations. Yashar Aliyev, Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the United Nations, made such a statement at the Security Council session, during the open discussion on "Global food insecurity as a result of hunger and conflict". According to him, Armenia should fulfill its international obligations, completely withdraw its armed forces from the "territory of Azerbaijan", put an end to territorial claims, allegedly illegal actions and disinformation.
"The Armenian side must put an end to mine terrorism, shed light on the fate of nearly 4,000 Azerbaijanis who disappeared during the conflict, compensate the damage done to Azerbaijan, including food security systems, and participate in negotiations in good faith. Azerbaijan is determined to protect its people, sovereignty and territorial integrity," emphasized Yashar Aliyev.
