Negotiations on settlement in Ukraine have started in Saudi Arabia
On August 5, two-day negotiations of the national security and political advisers of about 40 countries on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis began in Saudi Arabia. According to "Detq", the British "Reuters" news agency informs about this.
It is reported that Ukraine, its Western allies and other countries are participating in the negotiations. The purpose of the consultations is to combine various peace plans in Ukraine, including those from China, Africa and Brazil, with the ten-point plan presented by Ukraine.
Andriy Yermak, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, stated that Kiev expects complex but constructive consultations in Jeddah. He expressed hope that the participants of the meeting will be able to agree on the basic principles of war settlement.
It is noted that the Russian side does not participate in the consultations. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, announced earlier that the Kremlin will monitor the ongoing negotiations in Jeddah.
Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, said that Moscow views the ongoing consultations in Saudi Arabia as an attempt to create an anti-Russian coalition.
