There appears to be an unspoken agreement between us and Azerbaijan to leave us alone. Artsakh's President
Reactions from international structures have been, are and will be, but there is no result. Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan stated this in an interview given to Artsakh Television on August 6.
"I sent the first letter to the President of the Russian Federation at the beginning of June and stated that the situation is already catastrophic. The Prime Minister of Armenia additionally referred to it on July 5. After that, the Aliyev-Pashinyan-Charles Michel meeting took place, after that the Bayramov-Mirzoyan-Lavrov tripartite meeting organized by the Russian Foreign Ministry took place. "It seems that they noticed everywhere that there is a problem, and the situation is getting worse day by day, but the results are zero," said the Artsakh president.
Dialogue is not forced. It seems that there is a tacit agreement to leave us alone with Azerbaijan. Referring to the possible Baku-Stepanakert dialogue, Araik Harutyunyan said.
"Azerbaijan, using the pressure method... but this is no longer a pressure method, we are in a situation where we are on the verge of genocide. It cannot be called a dialogue, we are only being pushed to accept Azerbaijan's conditions and demands, which is unacceptable for us. Any dialogue must be within the framework of equality, dignity and rights. Those three principles have been violated, so we will continue to insist that the international community respect our rights. In that sense, there is still a toolkit," the Artsakh president said.
He noted that in the coming days he will address the international actors with a special message and specific recommendations or demands. "Because if they push for a dialogue with Azerbaijan, they should create those conditions, after which they urge us or demand to meet."
Araik Harutyunyan said that until now, contacts with Azerbaijan were through the mediation of Russian peacekeepers, and they were only related to social infrastructures, which gave certain results, but starting from December 12, Azerbaijan changed its behavior and moved the talks in an atmosphere of respect to pressure. dimension: "At that time, we had free movement with Armenia, we had the opportunity to directly communicate with the international community, not by phone, but to have visits and organize meetings. We need to restore that format, after which there can be real dialogue or negotiations."
