Moscow is ready to discuss the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. Zakharova

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, stated that Russia is open to a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Ukraine and is ready to respond to truly serious proposals. According to "Detq", the Russian TASS news agency informs about this.

Zakharova emphasized that the Russian side highly appreciates mediation and humanitarian initiatives of friends, which are aimed at achieving peace.

"We highly appreciate the mediating and humanitarian initiatives of our friends in the countries of the Global South, which are aimed at achieving peace. Unlike the Kiev regime, which interrupted and banned negotiations with Russia, we have always been and remain open to a diplomatic solution to the crisis and are ready to respond to truly serious proposals," he said.

The Russian official drew attention to the fact that without Russia's participation and consideration of its interests, no meeting on the topic of the Ukrainian crisis has any additional value. According to him, a "comprehensive, stable and fair settlement" of the situation is possible only if the Kiev regime stops, in his words, "military operations and terrorist attacks" and its "western sponsors stop supplying arms to the armed forces of Ukraine".

Zakharova also added that Ukraine should have a neutral status and not be a member of any alliance.

On August 5, negotiations on the issue of Ukraine were held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to which representatives of about 30 countries were invited, but not Russia. Naturally, this initiative does not enjoy the support of Moscow, because the latter insists that without its participation it is not possible to organize effective negotiations.
