Iran and Russia discuss cooperation in the field of ground forces

The delegation led by the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Kiyumars Heydari arrived in Moscow to discuss issues of bilateral military cooperation. According to "Detq", the Iranian state news agency IRNA informs about this.

It is reported that the official part of the bilateral negotiations took place during the session of the Main Committee of the Ground Forces, where issues related to military cooperation were discussed. These questions are aimed at the implementation of projects, the purpose of which is to increase the combat capability of the armed forces of both countries.

Oleg Salyukov, commander of the ground forces of the Russian Federation, noted that Iran is considered by the Russian Federation as one of the key states of the Middle East. He drew attention to the fact that Iran is a strategic partner of the Russian Federation, and constant intense political dialogue is a characteristic feature of the current stage of bilateral partnership.

It is noted that Salyukov and Heydari agreed on the expansion of cooperation.

During the visit to Moscow, the Iranian delegation will also visit military training institutions of the ground troops and enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
