I think and hope that the US understands well the scale and pace of the growing humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as realizes that a possible resolution would help to settle this situation, put an end to the humanitarian crisis and bring the parties back to the negotiation agenda. RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this at a joint briefing with the Belgian Foreign Minister in Yerevan on August 22, referring to the observation that the US is disrupting the process of adoption of the resolution by the UN Security Council.

"The world sees the policy of ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, and I do not think that the United States would like to be a part of it or contribute to the policy of ethnic cleansing. It is hard for me to imagine that something like this could happen," he said.

Mirzoyan noted that Armenia has always welcomed and offered to create opportunities for the entry of a neutral commission, a mission to Nagorno-Karabakh to present a neutral opinion to the international community, as well as to make efforts to achieve a just and sustainable peace.
