Russian peacekeepers offered to allow Azerbaijani trucks to enter Artsakh. Chairman of the National Assembly of Artsakh
Yesterday, when the Azerbaijani trucks approached, some negotiations took place with the Russian peacekeepers. Davit Ishkhanyan, Speaker of Artsakh National Assembly, said this during a meeting with journalists on August 30.
"The replacement of the commander of the Russian peacekeepers has just arrived in Artsakh and is still not familiar with the internal situation. There are some episodes, elements that the Russian side needs to be informed in more detail, but those who are here, the relevant officers and officials of the military, I am sure, are very well informed about our and the Azerbaijani side's approaches," Ishkhanyan said.
According to him, these discussions have not yielded any results yet. In any case, the proposal of the Russian peacekeepers to allow vehicles to enter the territory of the Republic of Artsakh did not yield any results. Measures have been taken by Artsakh authorities and relevant structures, and these discussions are still ongoing. They are not finished, the general position of Artsakh and giving appropriate explanations from the Russian side are very important here.
"The Russian side should also be aware of the general situation that exists and the views of the Artsakh side. I want to express hope that these negotiations will end in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and have their logical conclusion. Our expectations must be justified," said the speaker of the Artsakh National Assembly.
