De-blockade will be possible or practical only in the background of peace. Deputy Prime Minister
We do not have an agreement on the date and place of the next meeting. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said this in a conversation with journalists today, referring to the work of the tripartite working group under the joint chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia on the issue of unblocking economic and transport links in the region.
"In the process, of course, some issues are discussed at the level of working contacts, but there is no agreement regarding the next meeting at the moment," said Grigoryan.
To the journalist's question, what is the reason for the passivation of the work of the trilateral working group, the deputy prime minister answered that no matter how the issue of de-blockade is considered separately, the general background should be favorable, because what de-blockade can be talked about if there is no stability and peace. "Ultimately, de-blockade is also a process of peace, and de-blockade will be possible or applied against the background of peace. And in that sense, naturally, there is a certain correlation in terms of activation and passivation of works."
As for the mutual understanding of transport infrastructures and connections, Mher Grigoryan noted that there seems to be an agreement between the parties on that issue, but there are many issues related to its operation that still need to be finally agreed upon.
"Having the infrastructure of the Yeraskh-Horadiz railway, I think, is a very good solution for Armenia and for the region in general. It will emphasize and increase the logistical role of Armenia in the region. But along with that, there are related issues that still require a final solution and agreement," said Grigoryan.
