CSTO shows inaction towards Armenia. Khandanyan

At the moment, there is no process of withdrawing from the CSTO. Sargis Khandanyan, chairman of the NA Foreign Relations Committee, said this today, September 7, in a conversation with journalists at the NA.

He said that CSTO "washed its hands" and left Armenia. "CSTO shows inaction towards Armenia".

According to him, Russia, as a strategic ally, has questions, but Armenia does not receive answers for a long time.

"Reforms of the armed forces of Armenia and the security system in general must continue. In this regard, we should be open to cooperate with all those countries that have such interests," said Khandanyan, referring to the question of whether an option to change the security system is being discussed.

On September 6, Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Council of Foreign Relations under the Russian President, announced that there is a danger of Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO.

A few days ago, Viktor Biyagov was recalled from the position of permanent and authorized representative of RA in the CSTO, and that position is vacant.
